Proof Positivity: Respect Your Elders

My best friend works for the Department of Health and Human Resources. There is a whole other side to DHHR than food stamps. They fight for the rights of the elderly as well. She has seen it all. I’m not sure I want to go into detail because this is a child friendly site but a lot of really bad things do happen to older people sometimes when they are in these nursing homes.

The positive news is that there are organizations that fight for the elderly. Such as CAIRE ” The Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly (CARIE) is a non-profit organization, based in Philadelphia, dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable older people. ”

Elderly Rights in Texas

Here is a site with a huge list of places to take care of the elderly

  1. What a great thing, I have studied alot of Native American Culture and one of the biggest points in their beliefs is “elders” the respect the elders are shown is astounding, and it shouldn’t be, it should be the way it is.

The generations before us are the one’s that paved the way for us. How can so many just forget that? Its deplorable, and if we just cared for them as they should be, it wouldn’t be such a need for the cry for help.

Great site, keep up the good work!

  2. Thank you. This is my baby. I’m kinda proud of it.
