Proof Positivity: There’s a Festival For Everything: Belly Buttons

In the middle of Japan or what’s called “The Belly Button” There’s a festival celebrating the belly button. The participants paint a face on their tummies and wrap their waist in a kimono.

The tradition began about 35 years ago to unify Furano’s people. This is intended as a funny little thing the only thing that’s taken serious is the dancing.

If you’re in Japan the festival is July 28th and 29th in downtown Furando.
